Chuda

Chuda, also known as a chura. Chuda refers to traditional bangles typically worn by brides in many South Asian cultures, particularly in India. These bangles are usually made of lac, glass, metal, or other materials and are often worn in large numbers on both arms.

Chuda holds significant cultural and symbolic importance, especially in the context of weddings, where they are considered auspicious and are believed to bring good luck and marital bliss to the bride.

The chuda ceremony, known as Chura Chadana, is an essential ritual in many Indian weddings, where the bride's maternal uncle or another married woman from her maternal side helps her put on the bangles. The chura is worn for several weeks after the wedding as a symbol of the bride's married status and is often accompanied by other traditional bridal adornments.
